Basti pensare al pregevole lavoro di Francesco Griffo per il Bembo, carattere studiato alla fine del 1400 per il \u201c<em>de Aetna<\/em>\u201d di Pietro Bembo, da cui appunto prende il nome.<\/p>\n<p>Quello che per\u00f2 viene associato all\u2019<strong>eleganza senza tempo di stampo italiano<\/strong> \u00e8 un carattere nato qualche secolo dopo a Parma, il <strong>Bodoni<\/strong>. Anche in questo caso il nome del carattere \u00e8 associato a un cognome, quello di Giambattista Bodoni, cuneese di nascita e parmense di adozione. Bodoni nasce nel 1740 da una famiglia di tipografi e dopo gli anni di formazione tra Saluzzo e Roma si trasferisce a Parma, dove diventa <strong>direttore della Tipografia Reale<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La sua sensibilit\u00e0 artistica, unita a una grande capacit\u00e0 tecnica, lo spingono a sperimentare nuove forme tipografiche di ispirazione francese.<\/p>\n<p>Partendo dal lavoro di Pierre-Simon Fournier, ripreso anche da Firmin Didot, Giambattista Bodoni realizza nel 1798 il suo carattere, le cui caratteristiche principali risiedono nell\u2019<strong>estremo contrasto<\/strong>, nelle <strong>grazie molto sottili<\/strong> e nella <strong>perpendicolarit\u00e0<\/strong> delle stesse rispetto alle aste verticali.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section tecniche di stampa e ad una migliore qualit\u00e0 della carta, che permette l\u2019utilizzo di tratti molto sottili, senza che questi scompaiano.<\/p>\n<p>Il Bodoni diventa rapidamente il <strong>nuovo standard di riferimento per l\u2019eleganza tipografica<\/strong>, al punto che quasi ogni stamperia realizza una sua versione del bodoni, senza per\u00f2 raggiungere mai l\u2019eleganza dell\u2019originale.<\/p>\n<p>Il nuovo carattere, per la modernit\u00e0 che introduce, verr\u00e0 identificato come un &#8220;<strong>graziato moderno<\/strong>&#8220;, definizione tuttora in uso per indicare i caratteri di matrice bodoniana come il Didot, in opposizione ai &#8220;graziati classici&#8221; o &#8220;veneziani&#8221; come il Bembo e ai &#8220;graziati transizionali&#8221; come il Baskerville.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I principi sui quali si fonda il carattere vengono illustrati dallo stesso Bodoni nel suo \u201c<em>Manuale Tipografico<\/em>\u201d:<br><strong><br><ul><li><strong>regolarit\u00e0<\/strong>, tutte le lettere devono essere costruite partendo da una base comune che le definisce;<\/li><li><strong>nitidezza<\/strong>, le lettere devono essere ben leggibili;<\/li><li><strong>buon gusto<\/strong>, le lettere devono rispondere al proprio compito senza vezzi eccessivi;<\/li><li><strong>bellezza<\/strong>, le lettere devono essere realizzate con tutta la cura e l\u2019attenzione del caso, senza imposizione di tempo. (non a caso Bodoni lavorer\u00e0 tutta la vita nel perfezionare il suo carattere).<\/li><\/ul><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grazie alla sua arte il tipografo piemontese rende <strong>Parma<\/strong> la <strong>capitale mondiale della stampa<\/strong> di fine \u2018700. Vignelli peraltro, convinto che l\u2019enorme proliferazione di caratteri digitali produca solo inquinamento visivo, nel 1991 organizza una mostra dei suoi lavori, dimostrando che tutti i progetti possono essere affrontati usando solo pochi caratteri di base. Inutile dire che insieme all\u2019Helvetica, al Futura e a pochi altri illustri caratteri, Vignelli include proprio il Bodoni nella sua
