user experience in digital products and services such as, for example,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/offset.climateneutralnow.org\/footprintcalc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carbon footprint<\/a>\u00a0applications, apps that monitor the carbon footprint, allowing people to see how their daily actions impact the environment. It is a design approach that has great potential as an <b>amplifier of environmental awareness<\/b> and can be used to transform the user&#8217;s sustainable intention into sustainable attitudes. There is an extensive agglomeration of personal, social and environmental factors that influence behavior. Most of them can be attributed to three levels:\u00a0<\/p><ul><li><b>Personal<\/b>: beliefs, knowledge, attitudes, skills, genetics;\u00a0<\/li><li><b>Social<\/b>: interaction with other people;\u00a0<\/li><li><b>Environmental<\/b>: the area where individuals live, their workplace, offices, stores, etc., plus broader factors including economics (such as pricing).\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><div>Behavioral and cognitive sciences help us understand that our actions are the result of a mixture of conscious and non-conscious processes. Most attempts to change behavior focus on conscious actions. So, when we warn about the consequences of a particular personal bad habit to try to induce the person to change his behavior, this may not affect the processes that drive the habit. Therefore, there is great difficulty in achieving changes due to the behaviors that people have learned before.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>When we approach sustainability from the perspective of behavioral design, we need to think about <b>initiatives that change behavior<\/b>. It is also necessary to develop brand-users relationships, seeking to understand their motivations, consumption habits and information needs.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Below we list some examples of brands that take part in this movement:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pantys.com.br\/pages\/comofunciona#impacto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pantys<\/a>: a B-certified company for menstruation products, including menstrual panties, tampons, and other clinically tested solutions. The products are vegan, 100% carbon neutral and reusable.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/jafuimandioca.com.br\/conceito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">J\u00e1 fui mandioca<\/a>: \u201clike the skin of a fruit\u201d &#8211; startup of 100% compostable cassava biopackaging technology that turns into fertilizer in up to 90 days.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usebob.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">B.O.B<\/a>: born in 2019, a brand with the aim of acting against plastic pollution, offering bath products in bars with a low environmental impact and low water footprint.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.desembala.com.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Desembala<\/a>: cleaning products with plastic spray bottles that can be reused for a lifetime; the concentrated sachets completely dissolve in water.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Before having an idea for behavioral change, it is first necessary to fall in love with the problem, observing or interviewing individuals, <a href=\"https:\/\/cba-design.com\/latam\/en\/insights-empathy-is-the-way\/\">trying to put yourself in their shoes<\/a>.
