In its constant commitment to innovation and the promotion of high-quality teas, Palais des Thés has partnered with the CBA agency to introduce a new boutique concept: “L’Atelier du Vrac”, which stands for “Bulk Studio” in French, expanding its already established network of over 100 stores.
/ BACKGROUND

Since 1986, the dedicated teams at Palais des Thés have journeyed across the globe to uncover the finest teas and to share these discoveries with as wide an audience as possible.

Fueled by a profound dedication to both producers and consumers, Palais des Thés champions a tea culture that prioritizes environmental sustainability and social responsibility. It is in this spirit that Palais des Thés has always championed the consumption of loose leaf tea.

L’Atelier du Vrac is a local store dedicated to the exploration of loose leaf tea, offering numerous benefits:

  • It empowers everyone to embrace loose leaf tea, discovering their own infusion preferences with the guidance of expert Tea Sommeliers.

  • By preserving the whole leaf and allowing it to unfurl freely in the water to fully express its notes and flavors, l’Atelier du Vrac celebrates the work and know-how of its producers.

  • It provides a more cost-effective approach to tea consumption, giving everyone the freedom to choose the perfect dose according to their preferences.
  • It promotes an environmentally friendly practice by minimizing the use of disposable packaging.

Inspired by Palais des Thés’ emblematic codes – green, white, and light wood – the CBA agency designed a neighborhood boutique-atelier where the customer is at the heart of the experience.

By developing educational communication tools to support the Tea Sommeliers’ discourse, the CBA agency assisted the teams at Palais des Thés in creating an in-store experience aimed at making loose leaf tea more accessible and encouraging its consumption.

to tangibly demonstrate that loose leaf tea can be prepared in different ways to reveal its full range of flavors. Dosage, temperature, and infusion time are factors to consider in obtaining a tea to one’s taste. By making it possible to experiment with the versatility of tea, Palais des Thés continues its mission to democratize tea culture.

Additionally, by establishing the “atelier” area in the central part of the store, which can be customized to align with local preferences, Tea Sommeliers now have a perfectly tailored tool to introduce customers to and guide them through various tea preparation techniques that are easy to learn.
