12X6 with Stefano Colferai

Twelve works for six months, a project that transforms our offices into a gallery of artworks to narrate the stories and worlds of young creative talents.

In the fifth edition of 12X6, we were presented with a completely new imagery, no longer tied to an illustrative style but to a scenario made of plasticine. The title of the exhibition, “Self-Portrait,” expresses Stefano Colferai’s intention to narrate his artistic evolution through the selection of 12 frames extracted from his animations.

"Cyclically and in step with my artistic evolution, every 3/4 years I create a self-portrait to stop, take stock and understand where my research has arrived. I like to see the ones made previously and compare them over time, thinking that each one symbolizes an artistic and evolutionary step for me."

His works, entirely handmade, are the result of creative intuitions, interplay between images and words, as well as depictions of hilarious situations that the artist would like to experience or that he simply captured in everyday moments.

Observing his works, one perceives the great work behind every single detail and Stefano’s ability to model and manipulate a material like plasticine at will. The context is that of his desk, where scraps of material and tools used for modeling are noticeable, as if to tell of a process that has just ended and is always evolving.

For this edition too, we decided to inaugurate the exhibition together with old and new friends, professionals and simply enthusiasts of art and design. The large turnout was a demonstration of the interest in an artist capable of transporting in a light and carefree way, able to draw a smile from every viewer.
