Giovanni Cappato – architect, musician, farmer – is a young entrepreneur who choose Sardinia because he believes in the vocation of the territory and in the growth potential of Gallura Vermentino. He came from afar, found the ideal land, planted the vines, and created the wines. His personality is unique in the market and represents the ideal basis on which to establish the brand identity. For the company name, we choose the same surname as the founder, meaning “stranger” in Sardinia. This is already a bold choice, in the face of the blazons of Gallura, which reflects the intention of putting yourself in the game with your own voice and strength.

The brand is composed of the letters of the name Cappato, arranged in a mark that reproduces the skyline of the valley where the company is located and represents its intimate link.

The language is articulated with a few impactful elements, expressing the creative process from which the wines of the winery are born: geometric shapes of typographic origin interact in apparent randomness with turned images and vibrant colors, visually reproducing the idea of contamination.

The project involved the participation of the creative and food specialist Pasquale di Meglio, for the design of the visual language, and Vermentino Ghjlà.
The Ghjlà label – Gallura Vermentino DOCG – was the debut in which the company presented itself to the market. A strong and deliberately original manifesto in the traditional context in which it is inserted, intending to stand out.

In Nibe, we also use typography for a graphic story: the letters fall on the background of the label, citing the suspended residues with which this unfiltered wine ferments in the bottle.

The visual language is implemented on the website and in marketing materials in order to have a consistent impact on all touchpoints, physical and digital.

Vigne Cappato is a winery founded in Gallura in 2015. With an area of 7.5 hectares, it produces wines for the catering sector. Ghjlà and Nibe are the first labels that expand the expressive possibilities of Gallura Vermentino.
